Say “I Do” to Gorgeous DIY Fall Wedding Flowers!

Planning a late summer or early fall wedding or party?

Incorporating homegrown or locally sourced flowers is a great way to create a beautiful, stylish event on a budget. Granvia strawflowers are a perfect choice!

Last September, one of Suntory Flowers’ customers used Granvia strawflowers in their wedding. First, the couple grew the plants over the summer in large containers or the ground. The flowers come in a beautiful range of colors, including red, white, pink, yellow, and shades of orange. Just give them plenty of full sun, and they’ll thrive.

Throughout the season, the couple harvested and dried the blooms to save for the late September wedding reception. This is a great tip because dried Granvia blossoms hold their color beautifully, even years later! Just keep them in a dry, dark place until you’re ready to use them. No preservatives needed.

On their big day, they scattered the dried Granvia blossoms on sage linen table runners. Paired with fresh-cut dahlias in the same color range, the look was stunning and cohesive. Gold plate chargers and silverware added a touch of elegance.

This is a concept that can be dressed up or down to fit your style.

Creative Ways to Use Dried Petals – Make Your Own Confetti!

Another couple in the United Kingdom used dried Granvia petals to create fun, floral confetti! Each guest received a sachet of petals to toss as the newlyweds exited the ceremony. What a fun and colorful alternative to rice, birdseed, or bubbles—plus, it makes for amazing photos! This idea would work well with many types of flower petals.
